Stretch Out and Wait

December 20 2014 - February 7 2015

Lai Chi Man, Wu Hsaio Yuan, Ross McCarry, and Ben Dierckx

* We are pleased to announce the extension of our exhibition 'Stretch Out and Wait' through February 7, 2015.

For our December show we will have again a selection of four international artists who each in their own way reflect on perception, absence and philosophy in general.

Wu Hsiao Yuan (Taiwan, 1985) explores the urban landscape painting rays of light and halos. Her canvasses deliver an ecstatic interpretation of space where the image’s fuzziness enhances rather than obscures its reality.

The sculptor Chi Man Lai (Hong Kong, 1949) presents three works in white, dark veined Taiwanese marble. He seemed to have overcome the material’s resistance by shaping forms like water drops. “Relax” is what they resonate.

Ross McCarry (UK, 1981) created drawings, colorful rectangles that mimic the spines of covers of the vinyl records he has been spinning in the past. Being a digital DJ now, Ross invokes his nostalgia with limited edition, wax based pencils.

Ben Dierckx (Belgium, 1971) presents isolated fragments of historical decorative patterns in his paintings. The segments of the patterns have become autonomous and seek new relations.
